What are You Doing on Your Spare Time?
I cherish my alone time more than anything. It's often said that a person's character is revealed by how they spend their free time.
Personally, I've always been an extrovert, enjoying social interactions. However, the pandemic forced me into solitude, which was initially challenging. Surprisingly, this period of self-reflection has profoundly shaped me.
Here's what I've discovered and continue to do in my spare time:
- Journaling: I write about my daily activities, lessons learned, and interesting insights.
- Tracking Finances: I note every expense, even the smallest ones, and it helps me manage my money better.
- Engaging in Hobbies: Drawing, singing, and cooking are activities that keep me motivated and energized.
- Reading: I aim to read at least 10,000 words a day. During the pandemic, many false stories were circulating, and reading helped me avoid falling for them.
- Cleaning: I love shows like The Home Edit and Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. They inspired me to keep my home organized, making it easier to find things.
- Relaxing and Reflecting: People often skip this, but it’s important. I make time to relax and think about my plans. It helps me approach tasks mindfully.
- Forgiving Others Before Bed: The pandemic taught me that life is short. I’ve come to realize I never know when my time will come, so I make it a point to forgive others before I sleep, in case they, or I, never get the chance again.
